What exactly do they get them to do?
They ( the customer ) probably has zero computer
skills (otherwise they would already own a pc )
They would need babysitting to do any computer
work at all. Which means it would be more time
efficient to just do the job ourselves. The only
thing they could realistically do is clean up the
garbage..?

I haven't investigated. Perhaps the Waikato USA
ex-pat who's 'volunteering' to come down to the
next HB meeting will have the answer[s]?

Have a look-see, here for some potential clues.

In that long e-mail of mine was the comment-cum-
question: what are you trying to achieve? I think
we do need to be sure that we agree on an answer.

As I saw it, we were trying to promote Linux as
a realistic alternative to Windoze AND perhaps
make a dollar or two as we did it. Other spin-offs
could be a higher community profile & increased
membership. If we can get external 'support' from
Councils and other bodies because we're keeping
old PC from the land fills, as well as kudos for getting
PCs into the hands of people and groups who would
otherwise not get into the 'information age,' it would
seem like a good, all-round opportunity.

I don't imagine it will all come together without some
snags, but if we have a plan, it's not a straight-jacket;
it can be changed as circumstances, experience and
the people involved all change, too.

E.g. could it work (be of benefit) for some one (Chris?)
to run the 2nd hand sales (if any) from their place
of business?

Lots of ideas to talk around.

Please, someone, what's the date of the next meeting?
I presume the Waikato, USA chap is welcome?
