The time of both IPCop and desktop box have stayed in synch with each other and my cell phone for a week now. But the IPCop timer server gui page still sits there trying to get into synch. So no, there was no sudden time change when I ran this test.
Ended up having to use "killall ntpd" to get it to stop.
