[hblug] Domain change

I decided the other day that it was necessary to change the name of my internal domain because of possible conflicts with my www domain name.

Now I have a problem.
IPcop still thinks that it belongs to the old name.
This causes no problem for a winxp box. 
I can access internet through it.
I can email through it.
I can access ipcop gui.
I can ssh ipcop.
I can ping ipcop.

but when I go back to my Ubuntu machine .... I can do none of the above.

So somewhere I've got a setting (or two) out of kilter.
Suggestions please.
