[hblug] Am I in the s%&t?

Still not knowing Ubuntu too well and after only reading the command help
superficially, I managed to use the following command:

usermod -G dba pete

I din';t read the bit with the -G switch that states that if user pete is a
member of other groups than dba, he will be removed from these groups.

Needless to say I'm now no longer in the admin group. Grrrrrr

Anybody got an idea to fix this (I tried to logon as root but it tells me
that authentication failed)
