To add the ms core fonts to ubuntu the command is usually "sudo apt-get msttfcorefonts". Will confirm on pc after breakfast.

Very few linux distros come with much in the way of TT fonts installed.
Using the Adobe Postscript Type 1 format instead. For Microsoft Core
Fonts there is usually a copy available via the installer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_fonts_for_the_Web
Look up "(distro name here) microsoft core fonts" on Google. Which would
be "ubuntu microsoft core fonts" if i read the above corectly. If i
remember correctly they may or may not be available to OO.o at first
once installed.
