More thorough though starting to get outdated. RUTE:

I find for a longer read paper is better. I'd hate to read Lord of the
Rings on a computer, even the first chapter. But for newsy shorter
articles and roundups-
Linux -
Newsforge:
http://www.newsforge.com/
Linux.com:
http://www.linux.com/
Linux Today:
http://www.linuxtoday.com/
New Releases -
(distributions)
http://distrowatch.com/
(packages)
http://freshmeat.net/
And if you want to join in discussing stuff to death
http://slashdot.org/
(which i personally only go to if i have to. It is one of the greatest
sources of misinformation out there.)
NZ general computing articles-
Netguide:
http://www.netguide.co.nz/
PCWorld:
http://pcworld.co.nz/pcworld/pcw.nsf
Computerworld:
http://computerworld.co.nz/
- with a science/tech flavour
http://aardvark.co.nz/headlines.shtml
(Aardvark is written by the highly opinionated maker of New Zealands one
"pulse motor" as used to power cruise missiles.)
- world sci/tech (often satirical)
http://www.theregister.co.uk/
(Home of the BOFH, a kiwi)
Others could probably add many more like zdnet and cnet.com.com.
