No, this funny naming issue has to do with the windows partition on the
linux PC. Reading and writing to that partition from linux.

Writing over the network works great. Ignore the Win2k machine.

When you are in linux and you want to save a OpenOffice file for Windows
on hdb (the windows partition) ON THE SAME MACHINE can it be done ok.
Then you would have to shut down linux to reboot it into windows98 or
whatever and read the file saved from linux.
