If you want more flexibility in your install, you might want to check out
Slackeee.

I installed version 12.0 on my eee. It was dead easy. I used an elderly 64mb
USBkey as the boot device, and I loaded only those packages that I thought
that I might need on to a second 1gb USBkey from the regular Slackware 12.0
DVD. I keep the 64mb USBkey as a rescue device (not needed so far).

Even if future versions of Slackware grow in size, you still should be able to
slim down your install to fit the 4gb internal storage.

I am awaiting a copy of Slackware 12.1 to do an upgrade.

regards,
