Hi all
Long time listener, first time caller...
I have a server (Ubuntu 8.04 server) running a cron job that calls a
remote web page (which checks to see if tasks on that site need to be
processed). The page executes in under a second. I've done it this way
as the website is on a shared hosting provider that only offers
15minutes as the minimum cron interval.
The problem is that whilst the cron job is enbled - none of the other
Ubuntu machines (7.10 and 8.04 workstations) can access the same site.
Oddly, however, Windows machines and even Windows VM's running on those
same Linux workstation machines can. I can ping the website though.
A NetGear router does all the NAT and DHCP stuff.
Any ideas out there?
Cheers...
John
