Hi all,
I have a NEC laptop running FC5 .The other day I was downloading
vobcopy with yum. Everything seemed to go fine until the very end
when the system suddenly tried to re boot
, came up with multiple errors and eventually put up the
"The gdm user does not exist. Please correct gdm configuration and restart
gdm"
After doing a bit of a google about this apparent Display Manager problem
I think I have a handle on it but before I start fiddling I would like to
try and save important files and so forth.
I can get a shell with the rescue disk but could someone walk me through
any line commands which will let me burn the ~/home files to the DVD
writer ?.
I don't know if this is simple or not and I'm a bit under the weather with
a cold or something and I don't want to stuff this up.
Any help gratefully received
Regards
Ron
