[AuckLUG] GPL 3 - The Real Deal

Hi all,

There's been a lot of talk around the potential for GPL 3 to be a deal-breaker 
in the Novell-Microsoft deal.

It's an important moment for the Open Source community as they have to walk 
the fine line between defending their freedom to develop software free from 
the fear of bullying by patent threats - yet without sounding anti-business.

A lot of this will depend on correctly articulating why GPL 3 will include 
clauses anti-patent. Eben Moglen and the Software Freedom Law Centre seem to 
be doing a good job of this. Just wonder what other folks' thoughts are on 
this.
