i run gentoo on an hp/compaq nx8220

all of the drivers that gentoo considers stable work fine

the only thing that i have not had working is the internal modem but i've 
never tried.

the DSDT is a little broken but not so much that i got around to fixing it, 
this is really common apparently as most vendors compile the DSDT with broken 
compilers.
