I would really recommend to follow the advice given!

Bad blocks are like herpes. Once you've got 'em, you won't be getting rid 
of 'em!

But at least you may be able to access the data again and store it some place 
safe, if necessary.

I know, it's like the next thing you *don't need*, but just be glad you could 
recover your data and "only" have to migrate to a new drive, and not have to 
deal with lost data.
