[AuckLUG] Buying a Laptop

I have a compaq presario v5000 (celeron mobile); everything works out of the
box except wlan and display; display was easy to fix (just installed the
915resolution package for widescreen) but wlan needed a bit more playing
around (had to get firmware and cut it out - this was in ubuntu 6.10, but in
7.10 its easier I believe - its a broadcom).
definitely more ram over cpu and harddrive!
