one of our clients that we are doing development work for is looking for
an administrator to manage the system that we are currently developing
as well as the clients office systems.
the things you will get to deal with are:
- GNU/Linux server administration including:
* Samba workgroup administration
* Linux printing systems
* High performance MySQL maintenance
* Linux firewalls and security
* Mail systems
* High availability/performance clustering
* Backup
* Continuous monitoring and testing of operations
- Hardware maintenance:
* Server hardware and RAID systems
* Workgroup PC maintenance
* SOHO Networking
- Windows systems administration:
* Workgroup PC installation/management
* Security and anti-virus systems
- Applicant should have:
* Strong focus towards free-software solutions
* Understanding of free-software licensing issues
* Ability to work in a self-directed fashion
* Good communications skills, etc
* A skateboard
- Programming experience would be a bonus,
as you will be involved with field testing the system and may assist
us in debugging and improving the system as needed.
- you will be working contracting developers who will be able to
support you on all server related issues.
