My advice would be don't. You might have more luck than me but we've had three 
LG Writable DVD (not rewritables) drives at work that wouldn't work with 
SuSE. Could read CD's ok but reading DVD's was hit and miss - some DVD's  
worked, some didn't. Didn't try writing though. We ended up replacing two of 
them with ASUS DVD writers (and moved the third to a windows box).
