im on ubuntu and it has no problem detecting it. gtkpod i find works
brilliantly, and from the menus it seems to sync contacts/calendar etc with
evolution or something (might want to look at the docs to find out what).
There are heaps of apps that work well with the ipod in linux, cant say ive
ever had any problems.
