[AuckLUG] Uninstall problem

Hi all,
       I am trying to install an older version of limewire in Fedora C6 
cause
the most up to date version seems to give a particular computer indigestion
and cause multiple lock-ups ,crashes etc.

Having removed all previous versions and all references I can find
rpm -i keeps coming up with conflicts to previous files and repeatedly 
refers to /usr/lib/Limewire/  which folder does not exist.

Is there any log which it could be getting this misinformation from and/or
can anyone help me with this silly machine ?
