What is the difference between Debian and Ubuntu from the perspective of
installing packages?
Can a package intended for Debian be installed directly on Ubuntu 100% of
the time?
I haven't ever really used Debian. I've been using Kubuntu for the past
three months or so because of the strength of the Ubuntu community. So far,
I'm extremely happy with the results. Before that, I was using Redhat, then
Fedora Core for years with a brief (6 month) stint of SuSE. Even before I
used Ubuntu, though, I was using the RPM port of APT.
Thanks,
