Hello Folks I have a problem copying my email files from evolution, which has prevented me from doing a clean install for quite some time as I cannot backup my email. Whenever i try to copy any part of the .evolution folder, I get errors claiming an 'invalid parameter'. If I skip, it will just keep skipping through all my mail and addresses, effectively killing the process. It does the same to backup programs, which return errors too. Is there any way to archive, rebuild, reindex or export the mail folders? Exporting the address book in .vcf works a treat, but I have lost all my mail in previous attempts so I am loathe to do it again. I can't seem to find any mention of this issue at the Ximian site or on the web. Everyone just copies their mail folder and runs! ( I've moved dozens of other people's mail this way without a hitch) I'm running Ubuntu 6.10. After several successful distro upgrades, it really is time for a clean install as I like to install and play with various FOS software and I've built up quite a mess. Work is also forcing me to put Windoze back onto the machine and we all know what it can do to your linux box if installed after the fact. Any suggestions welcome. Cheers Rick Leckinger PS: I sent this to the LUG a few days ago, and again today. Both times I got a reply that "The message's content type was not explicitly allowed" Am I breaking any netiquette asking this question here??
