Hello Vince I'll echo John about Woosh. I'm in the CBD and get great service for home with the booster antenna. Woosh will flash their modem with the latest firmware and your account info for free when you sign up, making it instantly PPPoE ready. The only time I needed Windows was to flash an upgrade while travelling in the south, because their office was too far away... I haven't driven a vodem on Linux so I cannot comment. Good Luck! Rick
