Yahoo!Xtra  email address is different from the Yahoo email address. As for
xtramail is concern you get migrated to Yahoo!xtra platform, which mean your
@xtra.co.nz email migrated to yahoo!Xtra platform so that you get all the
Premium services from Yahoo !!!...Woff..Woooff!!!! Yes.. that is right....
You heard it right.....
While registering the Yahoo!Xtra Bubble ( you can customize the Xtra home
page)  while login to the new Yahoo!xtra platform with the
@xtra.co.nzusername, you will asked to go through small, registration
process...
I believe the Yahoo, Plugin, which download at the time of the registration
process, will check for your Default Email client settings on Xtra
acccount,... You can skip this process.....
To cut the chase..... So called Application Yahoo application which you are
talking about is only Windows compatible .. Its nothing to do with getting
email on your linux based email client as long as you have the correct email
server settings,

Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail:*Incoming Mail
(POP3) Server:*pop3.xtra.co.nz (Use SSL, port: 995)*Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
Server:*send.xtra.co.nz (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)*Account
Name/Login Name:*Your Xtra Mail ID (your email address *with* the "@
xtra.co.nz")*Email Address:*Your Xtra Mail address (e.g., user at xtra.co.nz)*
Password:*Your Xtra Mail password
