Hi Richard
It certainly works. The best way of doing it depends on what equipment you
have. If you just have the single port DSL-502T that xtra sends out for free
then you might need to use a hub/switch in order to connect the two
computers and the modem together.
Otherwise, if you don't care about connecting them both at the same time,
just plug a cable from your network card on the Ubuntu box to the ethernet
connection on the modem and restart the Ubuntu box (you don't have to
restart, you could just restart the networking components with "sudo
/etc/init.d/networking restart") and then things should just work. This
assumes that you have DHCP working on the router. Which is pretty standard
for the xtra setup.
