What are you wanting your computer for? I can recommend what the best parts to get would be. At the moment the Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs are the most powerful CPUs on the market by a long shot. And for $300 the E6300 C2D is almost as powerful as the best from AMD FX-62 that costs about $1500. So if you want to get the most power for your buck get the C2D. Just dont get a Mobo with a Intel P965 Chipset because its not supported by the Linux kernel yet. I hope that made sense to you. Im never sure what will make sense all seems like english to me. >From: Ronald Johns <ronaldj at orcon.net.nz> >Reply-To: Auckland Linux User Group mailing list <aucklug at linux.net.nz> >To: aucklug at linux.net.nz >Subject: [AuckLUG] Buying New Computer >Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2006 12:44:23 +1300 > >Can anyone tell me of any companies in N.Z. which sell new computers >(desktop & laptop) either with your choice of O/S installed or with no O/S >installed ?. > >Regards all >Ron > >_______________________________________________ >AuckLUG mailing list >AuckLUG at linux.net.nz >http://www.linux.net.nz/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aucklug _________________________________________________________________ Check out the latest video @ http://xtra.co.nz/streaming
