Oh for godsake people... this list seems to have an issue with sensationalism!!! Someone has alleged that NZLUG (not AuckLUG) publishes peoples email addresses online. This is correct. View the NZLUG archives here: http://www.linux.net.nz/lists/NZLUG/2006/11/ The reason for this is that the NZLUG web archive pre-dates the Mailman installation, and the old archive indexes peoples email addresses when they post, as a component of the web archive only. (Its always been this way; its historical. And i'm sure its something Nic Bellamy (as NZLUG Admin and host) is fully aware of.) Auckland LUG does NOT. Heres this months web archive as case in point: http://www.linux.net.nz/pipermail/aucklug/2006-November/thread.html The AuckLUG Website is http://auckland.linux.net.nz and as you can see its just a flat html page with some published info about how to find the List, its archive, and some other related web addresses. THATS IT. Can we get a grip please? Before we spread more FUD how bout some _facts_ backed up with _evidence_ gets presented. Cheers Mark. Speaking for himself - though I did help form AuckLUG in the beginning, and I do help administer the NZLUG Mailing list. And host the AuckLUG Website, such as it is.
