I don't think that google calender will be the only source of meeting dates.

I think they will still be on the mailing lists and website as well where
they are usually posted (that's where I'll get the details to add to the
google calender),  The idea is simply for those that do use google
calender, that it automatically will appear, making it easier to remember
when it is.
