PI have just got an Asus DRW-1608P35 16x drive, it works well, multi zone with linux, but fails when writing dvd+r discs, writes all others fine. It's supposed to be rebranded pioneer and you can supposedly update firmware to pioneers. but just for the sake of +R discs I won't be trying it. Apart from that one issue, I have had no probs.
