[AuckLUG] Buying DVD R/W

Hello folk on LUG,
                   I am running FedC4 on a desktop and have lots of 
probs with previous hardware. I am looking at buying a DVD R/W .Can 
anyone help me with pitfalls or tell me of a good DVD which is Linux 
friendly ?.
