Greetings Tim, Ive done a complete Gentoo system recently with -O3 without a problem (Kde, e17, OpenOffice, Firefox, thunderbird etc), using many more CFLAGS than mentioned previously for my x64 system. http://gentoo-wiki.com/CFLAGS may be of use :-) Cheers Chill.
