[AuckLUG] Linux-Friendly Computer Stores

Hello all, this is the first time I have used this list so I hope I get it
right.

I've been using Linux Mandrake now for about two years. Recently the [333mhz
PII] computer I was using to run it decided to pack up and die on me (it
actually swallowed a bit of condensation).

Anyway, not being a super-uber-hardware-guru, I was wondering if anyone knew
of any "Linux-friendly" computer stores that would be able to set me up with
a box that is naively compatible most versions of Linux (I have had issues
trying to get some hardware working with Linux distro's in the past), or if
anyone could recommend either a system to use and where to get it from?

I live in East Auckland, so if there is something local to that then it
would be great however if they ship then it is no biggie.

I would rather not buy parts separately and put them together myself as I
have had problems in the past when it comes to choosing compatible hardware
and configuring BIOS settings etc. :-S

What I am looking for:
*Any recommended "AMD" Processor (this is equivalent to Pentium 4)
*Any compatible Motherboard / PSU / Ram (= 1GB) / Sound Adapter
*=>128mb Graphics Card
*A case that will fit everything

I already have HDDs, CD drives and CRT so I don't need them (unless
of-course they come part of a package).

My budget is around $600.

You help would be much appreciated!
