Hello everyone. Merry Christmas!! :)
I'm new in the area. I just arrived in Auckland on December 16th and I'm
planning on staying here permanently. I'm American and I'm hoping to be
active in the Linux Users' Group and Open Source Software community here.
I've checked out the pages at linux.net.nz, but I discovered that there
hasn't been any activity since early November :( Has this just been a break
in the action during the holiday season?
I brought most of my computer in my suitcase. Now I'm looking for a good
place to buy the things I need to turn it back into a complete computer. I
need a decent case, a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse. Can anyone suggest
a good place to shop?
My current setup:
Kubuntu Edgy (6.10)
Compaq Presario 2200 laptop
Intel 82852/82855GM video chipset running Beryl and Aquamarine
1G RAM (reduced to 978.59M by the integrated video), 60G Hard Drive
My "big" computer (sitting in pieces on a bookshelf right now):
I'm going to format it and start over when I put it back together... I kinda
like Kubuntu.
MSI Motherboard
ATI Rage 128 Ultra video card (I kinda want to get a new video card, too)
1GB RAM, two 70GB hard drives = 140GB
Thank you,
Vince Aggrippino
