Whitcoulls Bookstores carry many Linux and generic UNIX books, some of which come with a Linux distribution on a CDROM. While the books are good, the CDROM will often be rather out of date - so you may be wise to buy an updated distribution to go along with it. Quay Computers in Lambton Quay, Wellington, sell the Infomagic 6 CD set, official Redhat Linux, and also the Linux Journal. Thanks to Sam C. and Donald G. for the tip. Copyleft, located at 39a Paterson Street, Abbotsford, Dunedin, sell Debian, Mandrake, SuSE and Red Hat CDROMs via mail order (they have on-line ordering with VISA or Mastercard, or you can mail them a cheque) - see their web page at http://www.copyleft.co.nz/ for pricing and other available products. Techbooks in Newmarket, Auckland sell Linux books, some containing Linux distributions. They also sell many other excellent technical books, some of which are quite hard to come by elsewhere.
