In light of the aborted NZLUG Wiki idea, it occurs to me to ask if the NZLUG and in particular the NZLUG mailing list has a decision making process in place. I'm relatively new to NZLUG so haven't observed whatever processes are normally used. For instance it seems that in the case of the NZLUG Wiki Logo/Motto, ideas and enthusiasm was on the wain and I would have expected a "call for votes" or similar (the sort of thing tried and tested in usenet newsgroups over a decade or two). Is this not usually done, or is it expected agreement will be reached by consensus, or someone will be nominated to make a decision? (Or is it that NZLUG doesn't make decisions via the mailing list?)
