Do you have a router with port forwarding involved? If
so youll need to remember to change the ssh forawrd
address in the router setup.

Take a look at /etc/ssh/sshd_config and search
"ListenAddress"
directives or something similar (man sshd_config),
which tell to ssh to
listen on specific IP addresses/ports. Perhaps you
have one explicit
ListenAddress with the old IP, sshd tries to bind to
that IP, doesn't
find it and then exits.
