Yes, my apologies. (Does more than show the calendar, gives you write
access to it as well.) OWA is not a stand alone product, but in this
light I guess it is being seen as one. When used in IE it's quite
good... it's basic client (at least the Exchange 2003 edition) drops a
lot of appearance functionality, but still gives access. (I guess they
are wrapped up enough in their little IE world they don't have to care
about other browsers.)

Interesting to note: OWA is a solution they offer for Mac users (and
thus by my thought process) to Linux desktops. However, on IE it's an
almost complete Outlook replacement. Under anything else, it's not. It
just feels to... web accessy.

At the moment I doubt that there is a complete alternative to OWA -
largely because as cliff said, it's Exchange exposed over the web, and
I know that it's possible to drop in an alternative, but I'm not aware
of an open source alternative (that is server based, all-in-one).

(Other solutions I guess would be GroupWise, which I'm guessing has
some web interface... should have a look at that though. Lotus must
also... I'm sure I remembering it exposing bits, but it had horrible
Java stuff)

However, I've strayed OT.

If you want the functionality of OWA without exchange, I'd suggest
Horde. It does 90% of it (minus public folders, unless it's changed a
lot recently). If you're just after webmail, have a look at Squirrel.
(Horde does pop3 also, iirc. Not so sure about Squirrel)
