I run RH8 on a couple of PCs & RH9 on my most modern box.
My RH8s are rock stable, but there is minimal software
running on both of these (one apache server, one samba/nfs
shares)

My RH9 box locks up solid after a couple of days if I
a) am logged into a window manager (either kde or gnome -
both the same) AND
b) I haven't touched it for about 48hrs
so I'm thinking there may be an issue with X, or
power saving (tried turning off all saving features I can find
and I don't believe there is anything compiled into the kernel
anyway). It also uses an SIS serial IDE controller & only a serial
hard disk, which may be giving issues.

This is the only box I run X or window manager on though - and I
haven't really had time to investigate.

I use apt4rpm to update all, and I've put some fairly unstable packages on the RH9 box - but the lockups were occuring before I put these on anyway.

cheers
H.
