Hi girls and guys,

Does any one know how to setup Suse 8 (or even just X?) to work with a
USB keyboard (on a compaq presario).

The Bios supports the keyboard (ie I can use it with lilo), however
after linux boots up and chucks me into kdm the keyboard wont work at all.

Suse must be doing something peculiar, as the keyboard was working fine
when mandrake 8.2 was installed on the system. Also if i boot up with
tomsrtbt disk the keyboard works fine - allowing me to mount and change
configurations files, now if only someone can let me know what the
changes are that needs to be made!

The keyboard was not working during installation either, but the mouse
was, so I was able to cut n paste and required information for the
install... (kdm doesnt seem to support cut and paste for login
unfortunately..)

The only useful google link i found was
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/swiegra_usbkeyboard.html, but that dosent
work for a number of reasons (different config files in suse 8 compared
to 7.3, kb was not detected during install).

Any help appreciated.

TIA
Jubal
